As you all know, I live in Germany, and right now this place is crazy with World Cup Fever!!!! So I just thought we'd start a little thread on the World Cup. France is still in it, so that's pretty exciting. What do you guys think about the Brazil game tomorrow? Well, good luck! I'll be rooting for you!

Germany won today, and it was insane! People were driving around honking and screaming. We just had to join in the fun . They're still sending off fireworks and stuff. It's just a party!

I must admit I have absolutely no interest in soccer, so I don't really know what's going on

Well, except I do... a little: every time France is playing and someone from the team scores a goal, I hear enthusiastic roars from the plaza There are lots of bars and restaurants here, and some of them have set up TVs for their customers to watch the games... so, they watch, they cheer, I hear'em from my home and I know we won

Well I tried to watch as many games as I could, and I'll watch both today's games.

I was really worried before the game against Spain, because France didn't play very well. I don't know who's gonna win tonight but I'll be rooting for France!

Germany is really strong, they play at home and they have Ballack, Klose and Lahm who are three very good players. I hope they'll beat Italy, these guys are cheaters :p

I think they're setting up a huge screen on the plaza for France's game tonight! Maybe I'll go have a look, I don't care much for soccer but I think the atmosphere might be worth it

Portugal made it for the semifinals, winning 3-1 in the penalties after a really poor game where the English Star forward Wayne Ronney was banned from the game after one hour.
Both teams were so afraid to lose that they did not want to win, so the game was quite boring .
The Portugal's goalkeeper made a great job in the penalties by stopping three English shots.

In my opinion, the game's best player was Owen Heargraves, but that wasn't enough

Now, let's root for France!! YAHA!

Yeah!!!!! Great game and victory for France!!!

After facing troubles in the 15 first minutes, France gets its grip on the game but it's still 0-0 at halftime. At the 57th minute, Thierry Henry scores after a great center of Zidane. France keeps its domination until the last 15 minutes where it decides to wait the Bresilians and do some counterattacks. Brazil did not manage to get serious opportunities to score so France won 1-0 !!!!!!

I haven't seen them playing so well for a long, long time, I'm so happy!

Giant screen on the plaza, I managed to watch the one goal! There were people everywhere, and now they're going crazy since we won, it's pretty great

Now we have to crush Portugal!!!

Something crazy is happening after each match where I live. I'm in the center of a city where there's a lot of strangers and immigrants (Charleori, Belgium). So, no matter who's the winner of a match, the place just next to my house is crowded by people having flags, and so on. They just enjoy the victory.

So, yesterday, there was a lot of noise and I had to wait till 2 a.m. to go bed .

I have to admit it, I expected that Brazil would win, but I'm way excited that France did! Good luck in the semi-finals! I just have to warn you, if it comes down to Germany in France in the finals, I'm going to have to root for Germany, but until then, I'll root for France.

We'll se tonight if Germany makes it to the final! Go Germany!

All I have to say is they had better win! This place goes crazy each time they win. I'll be watching!

A final match France-Germany would be Great

After 90 minutes of a balanced but boring game, the score was still 0-0. Then both teams remembered that they were playing soccer and not chess and the overtime was exciting. At the very beginning, Italia hit the post then the bar, and later, Buffon made a great save on a German shot.
At 3 minutes of the end of the game, Grosso scored for Italia thanks to a splendid shot which left no chance to the German keeper. Germany rushed to score but Italia scored a second goal after a counterattack.

On the overall game, I'd say that Italy deserved to go to the final, even if their game isn't very spectacular, but Germany mustn't be ashamed, they played very well too.
