| I wouldn't say I hated it, that's a pretty strong word. It did not offend me, so... it's just that I did not like it. _________________ Et toi, que vas-tu faire pour sauver la planète ?

| It's like Eol said - there's no middle ground for that movie. Personally, I think it's genius in it's craziness, but that's just me. By the way, have you ever seen Monty Python's Flying Circus? |

| Never! I've seen nothing of the Monty Python, can you believe that? Anyway, yesterday I watched a great movie : The Hours. It stars Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep and Julianne Moore. As you may guess from the cast, it's centered on women's life! That's a nice change from all our usual testosterone-sponsored movies, if you ask me It's about the life of three women : - Virginia Woolf, author to the famed Mrs Dalloway book, living in the 1920's. Writing her book, fighthing her mental illness, eventually committing suicide for the ones she loves (don't worry, the movie starts with the suicide, so it's no spoiler). - Laura Brown, a married woman and a mother, living an average life in the 50's and yearning for something more. - Clarissa Vaughn, a gay woman who takes care of her dying ex-husband in New York City, 2001. Their lives mirror one another, and all deal with themes of depression, suicide, emprisonment, yearning... but also love, courage, strength. It is really a pretty powerful movie emotionally. If you have the chance, just watch it! _________________ Et toi, que vas-tu faire pour sauver la planète ?

| I haven't seen it or heard much of it. It sounds kind of depressing, actually . Does it end well? |

| Yes and no. It's not simple enough to settle for a clear-cut ending I think. _________________ Et toi, que vas-tu faire pour sauver la planète ?

| Alright. There are some movies that can pull of the not-so-happy ending well, but others... well, we just won't talk about those. So I watched Waking Ned Divine the other night. It was hilarious! It was about this little Irish town where somebody wins the lottery. They find out that the guy that won died, but they want the money, so these two old men try to impersonate him to get the money. It's definitely different, but very funny. I think I'm going to have to go buy it. |

| I had never heard of it o_O I'll try to find it one day, I love it when a funny movie actually IS funny! Yesterday, I've seen Sin City. Adaptation from a comics, you know? Though I've never read it. The sheer esthetics of it is worth the watching IMHO, it really looks like a dark comics: everything is black and white, with some small spots of yellow and red here and there. The violence is completely over the top, which I usually don't like (well, I'm sensitive!). But here, the way it's done is just as over the top as what is done, so it's different. You can't be really disgusted, because it's obvious you can't just take it at face value. It's exageration, it's a comics on screen: just relax and have fun. Part comics, part film noir, includes some bits of dark humor, cheesy but strangely engrossing voice-over, and nice exagerate action. Really, it's quite interesting to see! _________________ Et toi, que vas-tu faire pour sauver la planète ?

| I've heard it's really violent, which doesn't make a movie attractive to me. I'd rather see a story than guts spilled all over the ground, personally. But I did like the style - at least from what I saw of it. It looked so different than other films! My internet is acting up, so I think I'm getting off for a while. By the way, I'm in Germany now, so there's no time difference! |

| Nice I think you'd like it at least a little if you saw it. As I said, the violence is really done in a very particular way that's not so disturbing. Trust me, I do NOT like excess of violence in my movies, yet I was pretty much okay with it in Sin City. Anyway... last night I watched Star Wars : Revenge of the Sith. I came close to howling with laughter at the ultimate cheesiness of the dialogs! They were ridiculous, and the acting... well, just plain bad. How can a movie so esthetically pleasing be so lame? Incredible. _________________ Et toi, que vas-tu faire pour sauver la planète ?

| I'll admit that the first three episodes of Star Wars are horribly cheesy, but it's really more about the storyline to me. I don't know. That's my opinion at least. 4, 5, and 6 are just classics. |

| Yes, I like episodes 4-5-6. I won't talk about episodes 1 & 2 because I don't remember them very well (except the record cheesiness of Anakin and Padme rolling madly in a field of flowers...), but number 3 really had me laughing in disbelief. How can actually GOOD actors (Nathalie Portman, Ewan McGregor) act so bad?? ***SPOILERS below*** The dialog was so horribly weak... there was nothing heartfelt about it, it was neither spontaneous nor convincing. It went like that: - Ani, I'm pregnant! - Happiest day of my life. Have you seen my new Gamecube? - Padme, my beloved wife... - Listen Anakin, let's run away before it's too late. - What? No conquering of the world? Are you kidding, I've been dreaming about it for... well five seconds actually. - You're a very bad boy Ani. - What? YOU WHORE ! - She's dying for no reason at all. Man, the giant black hole of this fucking plot point must have destroyed her will to live! - Boy ? LUKE ! Girl ? LEILA ? Parenting ? BYE ! *dies* Seriously. _________________ Et toi, que vas-tu faire pour sauver la planète ?

| It's true. You're terrible, Stef. Only joking. You know we all practically worship you, right? But really, maybe we should start to post spoiler warnings with the titles for like the movie page and then also the wheel of time page. Just in case... It's a thought . |
