How to register?

Yep, everything’s written in french around here, so here’s a FAQ so that English-speaking people may find their way to registering and posting!

To register:

1- First, click on “s’enregistrer” just below the board’s logo.
2- You’ll be taken to the board rules, they are roughly the same ole rules you may find anywhere else: respect the mods, don’t talk dirty, don’t insult people and don’t post peer-to-peer links. Also, it says the board uses cookies... You then have a choice between “j’accepte le règlement” (OK) and “je n’accepte pas le règlement” (cancel). Click on the first one to go on with the registration process.
3- Now, you have to create your account! The * indicates mandatory information...
“nom d’utilisateur”: enter your nickname
“adresse e-mail”: your e-mail
“mot de passe”: password
“localisation”: where you live
“emploi”: your job/occupation
“loisirs”: interests
“signature”: your sig...

Now, you just have to scroll down to the bottom and click “envoyer”. You’ll be sent a validation e-mail to confirm your registration and activate your account. Of course, the e-mail may be dumped into your junk folder, so check it. Obviously, if there’s still a problem, you can mail the admin (Myaah) or the mod (Stefanof – English pro! ) and we’ll take care of it. As a rule of thumb, I do check that each newbie has his account rightfully activated ^_^

Once registered, you’ll get the site newsletter automatically ^_^

To post:
“nouveau sujet” => new thread.
“répondre” => new reply.
Buttons on your posts themselves include:
"citer" => quote
"éditer" => edit
While writing your posts, most option buttons are self-explaining ("gras" means "bold", and so you can see it's bolded). The more obscure ones are:
"insérer une image" => insert a picture
"taille" => font height, when clicking on the menu it ranges from very small to very large
"fermer les balises" => close all tags
Under the area you type your message in, you can see 4 options with boxes you are free to check/uncheck. They are, in order:
- deactivate BBCode in this post
- deactivate smileys in this post
- attach my signature (which can be modified in your profile)
- warn me when somebody replies to the thread
At the bottom, you can see "ajouter un sondage" this is useful when you want to make a poll.
"question du sondage" => ask the poll question
"option du sondage" => input one of the possible answers
"ajouter l'option" => confirm the possible answer you've just written, and allows you to write another one (multiple times)
"sondage pendant" => that's only useful if you want your poll to be limited in time, leave it be.

And finally, at the very bottom of your posting area...
"prévisualisation" => preview
"envoyer" => send ! Congrats, you're done posting ^___^
