| Well if I'm ever in trouble in France, now I know who to call! And I'm going to hold you to that story, Eol. I'd love to hear about how fabulous you really are! For now I'm going to hold off on any more stories. You guys will start to think all I think about is myself if I tell anymore! I'll save the others for later. |

| "Lady of Narciss", eh? It has a nice ring to it. Well since you want more fascinating stories about me... Hmm.... This one isn't so much about me as it is about how incredible my whole family is. For Christmas one year, my family got a trampoline. The problem was we lived in Michigan where it is very snowy and cold. We wanted to put the trampoline up right away, but there was too much snow outside. My mom joked that we could put it up in the living room if it fit (she didn't expect it to). We (the kids) took that as an invitation, so we got measuring tapes out and sure enough, it fit beautifully! So we set up the trampoline in our house! Of course, we had high enough ceilings so we could jump. It was so cool! Have you ever seen the movie "Big"? He gets a trampoline in his apartment. It was kind of like that, except for ours took up the entire room! I was telling one of my friends at school about it, and another guy turned around and said, "So you're the girl with the trampoline! I've heard about you!" I was so excited! The trampoline made me famous! We had our trampoline there for almost a full year. We finally took it down so we could have a Christmas tree in the living room the next Christmas. If I think of any more fun stories, I'll post them. I hope people other than me actually post stories! If you write in simple French or maybe even in Frenglish (or franglais or however you want to say it ) I'll probably be able to understand it. I'll try to do that more often, too, if you want me to. Oh, and feel free to use metric units. I deal with them all the time, so I can visualize what they are. I'm no good at converting from American units to metric, though (as you may have noticed - I recently changed my metric height on the first page because my guess was way off ). |

| Yes, about your own height when I saw "180 cm" the very first thing I thought was "that may be a miscalculation" Well, you could be 180 cm of course, but that's pretty tall for a girl, it's more like the average male height ^_^ Though I'm still not sure about the whole thing, since I believed 171 cm (my height) was 5'4"... in which case, 5'6" being 168 cm could not be true... My, are we in a pickle ? Well, just tell us if you're of an average height for a girl, or more like the tall model type - no, actually, don't tell us that or you'll never get rid of the boys! Anyway, great trampoline story o_O And you kept it all the year round?? Just... how... did you use the living room with THAT in the middle?? Impressive I'll try to think of something else for me to tell, but it's pretty late now (2 AM here) so my brain doesn't seem able to think of anything! _________________ Et toi, que vas-tu faire pour sauver la planète ?

| Heh heh... Yeah, thankfully I'm not that tall. Nothing against girls that are, but I like my height . And for metric conversions, you can find them online. I think it's 2.54 cm for every inch or something like that. Pull out your calculators! Actually, here you go - http://convert.french-property.co.uk/#length. You can use that site! YAY! Just so you know, while we had the trampoline, it was more of a "trampoline room" than a living room . I had study sessions on it, and if we wanted to watch TV, we would get underneath it! We had another room that we used as our living room until we got the trampoline out of there . And yeah, it was there for almost a year. We set it up New Year's Day and took it down the following December. I highly suggest a trampoline in your house. |

| Okay, now I can't decide for the life of me if I want to crown you "Lady of Narciss" or "Trampoline Hero" Also, I used this site: http://www.cyes.info/aide/convertisseurs.phpAccording to that, 5'6" is around 177 cm... guess you are a little tall after all! Quick, run from the boys! _________________ Et toi, que vas-tu faire pour sauver la planète ?

| I got the same thing on that site . Put in 5.5 ft, or 66 inches (Those are the same thing). That should get it right. I don't know what the pied Fr. is. Do you guys have your own separate system? |

| 66 inches turns out to be 167 cm... o_O That's weird... About the french "pied" (and "pouce"), it's not in use anymore that I know of. I think that's an old measurement, but now we only use the metric one (in everyday life, in any case). _________________ Et toi, que vas-tu faire pour sauver la planète ?

| America should probably just switch over to the metric system. We use it in all of our scientific calculations because it's more precise. Plus, it's just easier to deal with. Almost all of our food has both our system and the metric system on it . I guess it's just tradition! |

| Heh, I was not aware of that! It'd sure make things easier if we all used the same system... but tradition has ever been a tough old dragon to beat down! _________________ Et toi, que vas-tu faire pour sauver la planète ?

| That's true. I think another problem is the older generation that never really learned the metric system like we did. I doubt they want to learn a whole new system. |

| I can relate to that. It's not much different that when we switched from the franc to the euro as a monetary unit in France. I'm 21. I must have been what? 17 or 18 when we switched. Young. And today, I'm still not entirely adjusted to it, and I know I'm not the only one. Of course, it's not a real problem, since it just puts my perception of prices slightly off but not too much. I can imagine what it can do to older people though. Not easy. _________________ Et toi, que vas-tu faire pour sauver la planète ?

| Well, I have a little story if you want, but nothing great about what I did, and the others already know it ^__^ ... Actually I have some problems with vocubalry, so I'll tell the story when I'll get Stef nearby My grandmother still uses the old franc, 100 old francs were 1 new franc, and then we have the euro, pretty hard for her _________________ If you see something darker than my heart, it is my soul...
